Graduate student Dan O’Brien was recently awarded Georgetown GradGov’s $1,500 STEM Research Grant for the Public Good. The award will fund testing of his device through purchase of Genoskin’s NativeSkin.
12/4/21 – Undergrad JoJo Farina Presents Research at APS Conference
This weekend, JoJo—alongside three classmates—presented results from his work in the Paranjape lab. His poster, entitled “Thermal Characteristics of Polycaprolactone Films for Triggered Drug Delivery Release,” detailed the progress he has made in characterizing how thin-film resistive heaters can be used for triggered release of drugs in implantable systems. JoJo used a thermochromic dye to investigate how polycaprolactone (PCL) films were melted by heating of these resistors. The physics department’s news story can be found here.
